Networking – decisions, decisions
When you go to networking events, there are often people who are just starting to network; they are reconsidering which networking groups they go to, and are sort of thinking about how they might use online networking. Many are surprised by “all this networking” having not really explored this until very recently.
So, for them, and others a bit of a reprise …
If you are going to networking events, have a think about why you are going and what you want out of it. Many networking groups, although not all, have some training and support for members and opportunities to present to the group and listen to others. Some restrict the presentations to their own members and some, will invite others.

It is also important to think about the logistics, where and when are you going to network – can you get to the meetings on a regular enough basis to make the membership worthwhile to you? And that depends on what you want out of it and what you think is worthwhile; have a look at choosing a group
