Sales training - increasing sales from existing customers

Dealing with customers can be tricky. For many, as they progress through their chosen profession from newby / trainee all the way through to director / partner / business leader they move from technician to people manager and customer service manager.

To be successful at the highest level, they need to develop enhanced people skills to sell services, often in a tough, competitive environment.

The culture within many businesses, and their approach to selling, relies closely on relationship selling. However, other "selling skills" are also required. Successful businesses need to bring their selling skills into the business context, to be really successful.

Sue's programmes are run in Hertfordshire, Central London and Greater London and can be arranged at other venues around the country.

Overview of workshop

What percentage of your turnover is from repeat business? Should it be higher? If so, you need to consider what makes your existing clients return – and why others do not. The level of service you give across the whole of your organisation will impact on clients, even though some of your staff will not leave the office and meet anyone.

This workshop will help you understand the ways you can increase the percentage of clients who stay with you and the value of their business to you.

What will you learn?
During this workshop, you will:

  • Learn how to assess the clients’ view of your service
  • Consider the importance of internal client service within your organisation
  • Plan how to assess the processes and barriers which prevent excellent service, within your organisation
  • Understand who is involved in a client team
  • Recognise the early warning signs that a client relationship is at risk

The workshop will include a variety of interactive exercises which will require you to be open and honest about your personal style and your business.

Previous delegates on similar events have commented:

"Lots of food for thought in paying attention to others; I need to spend more time on developing my observation skills, as well as thinking before I speak."

"It was frightening to discover that my receptionist knew some of my clients better than some of the managers did - but equally worrying that she decided who was best for them to speak to."

"So many of the staff have great ideas about how we improve what we deliver and we need to capture that. I'd be happy to reward good ideas, even if they don't generate income, if only to motviate them to keep finding new ways of selling our products."
